LiveStreet: Open Source Social Network Engine

LiveStreet is a Free engine of social networks. Like Digg and Habr style. Written in PHP 5, using the database MySQL, template engine Smarty. LiveStreet CMS is a great tool to create social networks and team blogs.
For correct work LiveStreet needs PHP of 5.2.1 version or higher with support of addon mbstring , a database MySQL 5 and preferably with InnoDB support. InnoDB provides better performance and ensures the integrity of related data.
LiveStreet can operate on a webserver Apache 2 with enabled module mod_rewrite , and at nginx + FastCGI . To work on nginx it is required to configure rewrites in the webserver configuration similar to the rules in. htaccess.

Holla: Open Source Group Chat Software Building JavaScript

Holla is a open source asynchronous building JavaScript web applications, it's a group chat application, a bit like Campfire. You can create channels, then invite friends to those channels, chat and share files.

You can CRUD channels, add messages and upload files - all without blocking any of the UI. Any AJAX requests that need to happen, happen in the background. Asynchronous interfaces. The application is actually a "sample resource" for the upcoming book of the author -which on asynchronous interfaces- and has a demo too.

Cufonized Fly-out Menu with jQuery and CSS3

Cufonized Fly-out Menu use jQuery for the effect and some CSS3 properties for the style. It's that has two nice features: when hovering over the menu items we will move a hover-state item that adapts to the width of the current item, and we will slide out a description bar from the left side of the page, reaching towards the current menu item.

jQuery Polaroid Photobar Gallery with Thumbnails

Photobar albums script that will expand to sets of slightly rotated thumbnails that pop out on hover. The full image will slide in from the bottom once a thumbnail is clicked. In the full image view the user can navigate through the pictures or simply choose another thumbnail to be displayed.

For this gallery we will be using the 2D Transform plugin to animate rotations. This albums include all our HTML in a div with the class “pp_gallery”. It will consist of the loading div, the navigation that will appear when the full image is viewed and the main thumbnails container.
